Teachers and Staff,
If you see any members of the high school cross country team, please congratulate them on an excellent showing at the Pickerington Central Invitational on Saturday. The Varsity team won the 14 team Invitational with 67 points, beating second place Hilliard Davidson with 82 points, and third place Westerville South with 84 points. As a note, Hilliard Davidson has qualifed to the last 9 state meets. This was a major accomplishment for these young men. Student athletes running varsity on Saturday were:
1. Blake Taneff - Jr - (overall race winner in 16:44)
2. Sebastian Matt - So. - 12th overall
3. Austin Bach - Fr. - 15th overall
4. Drew Rose - Fr. - 16th overall
5. Tom Newton - Jr. - 23rd overall
6. Kraig Manion - So. - 59th overall
7. Alex Stanislav - Jr. - 67th overall
Also, the Reserve team won two meets last week (Northridge Invitational) and the Central Ohio Invitational. In addition, they finished third this weekend in the Reserve Race at Pickerington Central. Individuals scoring for the reserve team were:
1. Willie Matt - Jr. - 6th overall
2. Andrew Ziminski - Jr. - 13th overall
3. Joydeep Ganguly - Fr. - 16th overall
4. Ross Brubaker - Sr. - 20th overall
5. Nathan Scribano - Fr. - 36th overall
Other key members of the cross country team are Parker Jones (Jr.), Nate Peck (Jr.), Kyle Manion (Jr.), Thom Rousseau (Sr.), Clay Cooper (Sr.), Joe Flaherty (Fr.), David Stanislav (Fr.), JP Lammers (So.), DJ Inman (Jr.), Trevor McInnes (Fr.), and Bryan Washington (Jr.)
The boy's and girl's teams both have 2 meets left before the conference meet on Saturday October 17th. The boy's will be at Pickerington North on Saturday and at Thomas Worthington on Saturday 10/10. The girls will be at Hilliard Darby on Saturday and Thomas Worthington on 10/10
Your words of encouragement to these young men and women goes a long way. They work very hard throughout the entire year and they are beginning to see great results.
