STATE CHAMPION
 Congratulations to Tim Collins for being the first boys swimming state champion for New Albany. Tim placed first in the 100 Fly with a time of 48.92. WOW!
SWIMMERS & DIVERS PERFORM WELL AT STATE


The Girls Team finished 5th in the state in Division 2. The highest place ever for New Albany Girls swim and dive. First Kelsey Conrad finished 16th in diving and was the first scorer of the meet on Thursday. Natalie Horvath and Lauren Hirsh both dove at the state meet in the tough competition as well. Next was Jenna Young who placed 3rd in the 200 free and 5th in the 500 free. Molly Dengler placed 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley and 4th in the 500 Free. Suzanne Sliwowski place 12th in the 500 Free, which proved to be a very strong event for our team, and Suzanne also competed in the 200 free. Devin McGee competed in the 100 Breast, and Dominique Suarez competed in the 100 back. The 200 Free Relay of Dengler, Suarez, Sliwowski, and Young place 9th, and also the 400 Free Relay of Young, Suarez, Sliwowski, and Dengler placed 5th, scoring enough points for the 5th place spot as a team. There were new team records set by Young in the 200 free, Dengler in the 200 IM and 50 Free, and the 200 Free Relay team and 400 Free Relay Team. Molly Dengler also earned All America consideration in the 200 IM. Dengler, Young, Suarez, and Sliwowski have earned All Ohio honors. Congrats to the girls for a great finish to the season. The Boys Team finished 6th in the state in Division 1. Gabe Dixson started the meet off diving on Thursday and placing 8th place to start the scoring. New Albany has its first Boys Swimming State Champion in Tim Collins, who won the 100 Fly. Tim also tied for 3rd place in the 100 back Brian Barrett placed 7th in the 50 free and 7th in the 100 Free. The 200 Medley Relay of Collins, Paul Huey, Matt Gleason, and Barrett, placed 5th. The relay team of Austen Sybert, Gleason, Stuart Sliwowski,and David Huddle raced in the 200 Free Relay. The 400 Free Relay of Barrett, Collins, Sybert and Gleason placed 6th sealing the 6th place team finish. Tim Collins set a new team record in the 100 fly, and earned automatic All America in the 100 fly and 100 back. Brian Barrett also earned automatic All - America in the 50 and 100 Free (and set new team records in those events at the District Championships), All 3 relays earned consideration for All America 200 Medley Relay(Collins, Huey, Gleason, and Barrett), 200 Free Relay(Barrett, Sliwowski, Sybert, Gleason), and the 400 Free Relay(Barrett, Collins, Sybert, and Gleason). Collins, Barrett, Huey, Gleason and Sybert have earned All Ohio honors. It was an exciting competition and was an exciting team finish for both the girls and boys.
SWIMMERS & DIVERS QUALIFY FOR STATE
Congrats to all that competed at the District Championships. We had some fast swimming from our team and around the district area. To give a recap on the 2 sessions:
The boys raced well and placed third as a team. We had some fast swims from many. We advanced 3 relays and 4 individual swims to the State meet. We had one Champion, Tim Collins in the 100 fly, with an exciting race which also was an automatic for All American. We also had some 2nd place finishes from Tim in the 100 Back and Brian Barrett in the 50 and 100 Free. Brian and Tim's times from their individual events are automatic qualified for All American. We had life time best times from the others, Paul Huey, Robert Huey, Austen Sybert, Stuart Sliwowski, David Huddle and Matt Gleason as they all stepped up to race for New Albany. The relays placed for advancement to States, so we get another chance to make our mark in the State.
The girls had an exciting day with winning their 2nd District Team Title. They were well ahead of the 2nd place finish. We advanced 2 relays and 8 individual swims to the State meet. We had multiple champions. Molly Dengler won both the 200 IM and 500 Free in District Record times. She received All American Consideration for the 200 IM. Jenna Young won the 200 Free and advanced in the 500 Free as well. The 200 Free and 400 Free Relays, both won their races. Suzanne Sliwowski raced hard and advanced to the State meet in both her events, the 200 and 500 Free. Devin McGee raced to her personal best in the 100 breast, earning her an automatic spot in the State meet. Dominique Suarez raced well in the 100 Back earning a spot to States. We had many other swims that athletes dropped time and raced hard, and all racing to contribute to the team championships. Congrats again to the divers that advanced to States from District Diving, Gabe Dixson, Lauren Hirsh, Kelsey Conrad, and Natalie Horvath.
And finally, Coach Wharton was named the Central District Division 2 Girls Coach of the Year. Congratulations on a job well done!

DIVERS TO COMPETE IN DISTRICT MEET
Good Luck to the divers headed to the District meet at the Dublin Community Recreation Center. The boys - Gisli Bachmann, Gabe Dixson, Willie Matt and Kevin Wolf - will compete Tuesday, February 12th beginning at 11:30am. The competition for the girls - Kelsey Conrad, Lauren Hirsh, Natalie Horvath and Sarah Reynolds - is scheduled for Thursday, February 14 beginning at 11:30am. GOOD LUCK!
NEW ALBANY SHINES IN LEAGUE SWIM & DIVE MEET
Congratulations to all swimmers and divers for a very nice job this weekend at the OCC Championship. The boys team won their 2nd OCC Conference title. The girls had a challenge and did well, and came in 2nd. The divers started the championship on Friday out at Dublin rec Center and did very well. Boys went 1-2-3, with Gabe Dixson winning, Kevin Wolf second and Willie Matt getting third. Girls had a good competition as well. They placed 2-4-5, setting the stage for the meet the next day. Kelsey Conrad got 2nd, Lauren Hirsh got 4th and Sarah Reynolds got 5th.
The competition on Saturday was fun and challenging. The athletes raced well and everyone was racing to get their hand on the wall fast. There were 6 OCC records set at our site, 3 by New Albany. Tim Collins set the OCC record in the 100 fly at 50.30 and 100 back at 52.79. Brian Barrett was the other NA athlete to set an OCC record in the 100 breast with 59.86. Brian's swim was also a team record. There were 15 pool records set during the swim competition. So there was some fast swimming by all of the teams, which makes for an exciting meet.
SWIMMER RECOGNIZED
Congratulations go to Molly Dengler for being selected as Larry Larson's WTVN610 Radio Swimmer of the Week. Starting Thursday, you can click on WTVN.com to read about Molly's accomplishments. You can also hear it on the air Saturday at 1:26pm and again on Sunday at 10:40am. Way to go Molly!
DIVING RECORD BROKEN
Kudos to Gabe Dixson for breaking the school record for a six dive meet. The new record is 286.25. Don't be surprised to see him break his own record. Congratulations Gabe on a great accomplishment!
